Making a WLB

Each Wicked Little Beasties© is made with a polymer clay, stainless steal framing wire, and compressed aluminum foil. The imagining starts with sketching out a concept. While bending the framing wire into the beginning form, the concept of the WLB deepens. Polymer clay is pressed around the body and I put details in with all sorts of tools. I use anything that makes an interesting texture. Then the WLB is baked in an oven with their littermates. Once cooled, layers of acrylic paint are applied. Every WLB has at least three coats of paint. Once dry, the WLB is coated with an archival sealant that helps protects the sculpture from UV light and helps keep the colors vibrant. Beasties are not toys and are meant to be displayed in creative ways. They are handmade and so will have small differences.
